About The Position

This position provides technical administration and operational support for Tarrant County College’s (TCC) Colleague enterprise resource planning (ERP) environment and related infrastructure systems, ensuring system reliability, performance, and continuity of critical business operations. This role focuses primarily on ERP systems administration and Unix/Linux platform support, with progressively expanding responsibilities in Windows Server administration and broader enterprise infrastructure technologies to support system integration, modernization, and ongoing IT operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
  • Knowledge of ITIL principles and formal Change Control processes for ERP and infrastructure environments
  • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, including replication and backup validation for systems
  • Knowledge of UNIX and Linux operating systems, including IBM Power Server hardware and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9 environments
  • Skilled in delivering high-quality customer service and building effective interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills with technical and non-technical customers
  • Skilled in UNIX and Linux scripting, such as Bash and Shell for automation and process optimization
  • Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite and the Microsoft 365 platform
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly ensuring accurate and timely completion, while exhibiting strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in collaborative environments, engaging with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced work environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to coordinate assigned work and communicate effectively with faculty and staff to support campus and departmental operations
  • Ability to maintain a high level of diplomacy and tact, ensuring confidentiality and discretion with sensitive and confidential information

Nice To Haves

  • At least one (1) year’s working experience administering Ellucian Colleague ERP environments
  • Current certification in one or more of the following areas: ITIL 4 Foundation Certification, Ellucian or other ERP platform certification, Server administration certifications (e.g., Microsoft Windows Server, VMWare, UNIX/Linux Administrator), Industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) Certification)

Responsibilities

  • Administers Ellucian Colleague ERP environments, including CORE architecture, environment configuration, batch and upgrade management (Ellucian Solution Manager), user security and access controls, and backup and recovery procedures
  • Supports and maintains ERP application environments, including Tomcat, DMI, TDClient, and UniData, to ensure system performance, availability, and reliability
  • Applies ERP system patches, updates, and maintenance releases while supporting compliance, system integrity, and operational continuity
  • Participates in and supports scheduled maintenance activities and system upgrades
  • Develops and maintains ERP system documentation, including configurations, operational procedures, troubleshooting guidance, and support records
  • Coordinates ERP maintenance activities and supports adherence to established IT governance, security, and operational standards
  • Administers Unix, Linux, and Windows server environments to support stable, secure, and efficient infrastructure operations
  • Supports administration and maintenance of IBM Power Systems hardware and virtualized server platforms
  • Monitors and troubleshoots server storage environments, including SAN and Direct Attached Storage (DAS) systems, to maintain system availability and performance
  • Administers and validates backup and recovery processes while maintaining system continuity and operational support documentation
  • Assists with administration and support of Windows Server and VMWare virtualization environments, including compute and storage virtualization technologies
  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
  • Works under the supervision of the assigned department leader
  • Performs Other Related Tasks as Required
