Lockton Companies is looking to add a People Solutions compliance attorney to support both our national ERISA Compliance Consulting practice and our Northeast Series of Lockton Companies. The attorney in this role provides employee health and welfare benefit compliance support to Lockton account service teams and their clients in several Lockton offices and throughout the Northeast states. The best candidates for this position should have a strong working knowledge of ERISA, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), HIPAA, COBRA and tax issues related to group welfare benefits, a strong legal research background, effective legal writing skills, a proven track record of public speaking and interpersonal relationship skill development, law firm or consulting experience specializing in health and welfare benefits, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to simplify complex legal concepts and ensure non-lawyers can understand and apply them. This attorney must be able to foster and maintain good, cooperative, and effective working relationships with the Lockton offices and their account service teams in the field. Above all, the successful candidate must enjoy proactively seeking out ways to keep our associates apprised of the ever-changing compliance landscape and provide the teams assurance that they are advising clients correctly. Our ERISA compliance attorneys work closely with our account teams and clients to help them comply with the numerous obligations imposed upon group benefit programs under federal and select state laws as they relate to welfare benefit plans. Our attorneys stay abreast of compliance-related developments and communicate these developments to clients and associates via a variety of publications and web-based or live presentations.
