Raytheon has an opportunity for an energetic and motivated Safety professional to support our ergonomics and safety programs within the Environment, Health & Safety department at the Tucson, Arizona site. Responsible for the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of hazardous conditions and environmental factors associated with the workplace that may cause impaired health or significant discomfort among workers. Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects with solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
  • Experience in EH&S
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ergonomic evaluations in industrial and office settings
  • Experience with EJMS, CUSA or similar
  • Ability to obtain Associate Ergonomics Professional (AEP), Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE), or equivalent certification within 2 years.
  • Ability to manage technical data accurately and efficiently.
  • Active Secret level or higher security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve ergonomics programs to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company EH&S requirements.
  • Work with cross functional teams to identify opportunities to develop and implement proactive strategies to prevent ergonomic injuries.
  • Develop and deliver ergonomics related training and presentations to promote awareness and compliance.
  • Support and implement site injury reduction and ergonomic goals and initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource for employee compliance questions/concerns and influence safe behaviors.
  • Support first aid and OSHA injury investigations and root cause analysis to identify corrective actions and track to completion.
  • Interpret and apply OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, IFC, IBC and other applicable regulations and standards.
  • Support and implement site injury reduction goals and initiatives.
  • Analysis of leading and lagging safety performance indicators for trends to drive corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with individuals and teams across the business.
  • Effectively organize, prioritize, and address multiple, simultaneous projects or tasks.
