About The Position

RLE International is seeking an Ergonomics Engineer to join our customer's Battery Manufacturing Engineering team in Dearborn, MI. This hybrid role requires on-site presence four days per week (Monday through Thursday) with additional visits to vendor facilities. The position supports program work for Industrial Engineering needs, including study responses, capacity strategy analysis, and time studies, as well as ergonomic analysis of assembly workstations. The role involves providing technical expertise for the interpretation and implementation of ergonomic standards for new model programs, completing and documenting ergonomic assessments, and supporting key deliverables such as High Hurts reviews, Electrical Connector Reviews (ECR), Joint Connector Reviews (JCR), supplier run-offs, and plant launch support. The engineer will work cross-functionally with various departments to ensure ergonomic guidelines are met and will play a key role in assisting with ergonomic solutions using approved assessment tools. The position also involves identifying, evaluating, and implementing innovative ergonomic solutions and industry best practices, supporting the development of ergonomic standards, and participating in PTME Global Ergonomic meetings.

Requirements

  • Industrial Engineering.
  • Analyze and assess ergonomic risk using an advanced digital human modeling toolset.
  • Minimum (3) years of experience in the field of ergonomics
  • Project management skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Experience in team-based environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Minimum (3) years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • BS in Industrial Engineering, BA / BHK in Kinesiology or equivalent
  • Must meet all minimum requirements to be considered.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise for interpretation / implementation of ergonomic related PTME Standards for new model programs, as per the Design for Ergonomic (DFE) Procedure on NE new model powertrain programs.
  • Complete and document ergonomic assessments for new model programs, as per the Design for Ergonomic (DFE) Procedure.
  • Complete key deliverables and associated documentation of the Design for Ergonomic (DFE) Procedure including High Hurts review working with the Local Ergonomics Committee (LEC) members, the Electrical Connector Review (ECR), Joint Connector Review (JCR), supplier run-off, and plant launch support.
  • Work cross-functionally with Safety, Digital Assembly, Product Design, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, MP&L, LEC to ensure that the ergonomic risk factors within a work cell (including product, process, tooling, racks) meet the ergonomic guidelines.
  • Assist with ergonomic solutions through the evaluation of ergonomic resolutions utilizing Siemens Teamcenter, Process Simulate, JACK software, Ergo Web, and other Ford approved assessment tools.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative ergonomic solutions and industry best practices through continuous benchmarking and research, driving improvements in workplace safety, efficiency, and employee well-being.
  • Support the development of ergonomic standards.
  • Support PTME Global Ergonomic meetings.
