About The Position

This role involves assisting new team members with personal protective equipment (PPE), ensuring they follow ergonomics guidelines weekly, and supporting team members in the medical management program. The position also includes completing work orders for the maintenance team, documenting improvements, and tracking illnesses or pain complaints to ensure ergonomic support. Additionally, the role involves assisting in new hire orientation and equipment fitting, cross-training in other departments, and participating in ergonomic awareness events. The Ergo Monitor will also help educate new and seasoned monitors on their responsibilities and assist supervisors and leads in understanding the ergonomics program through safety contacts.

Requirements

  • Must be past probationary period.
  • Internal applicants must have a good work record: no disciplines greater than one written warning within the last 12 months and 5 or less attendance points at the time of the posting.
  • This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.
  • Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

Responsibilities

  • Assist new Team Members with the adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPD).
  • Follow up with assigned team members to ensure they are following ergonomics weekly.
  • Assist Team Members that have developed issues and are part of medical management program.
  • Completing work order for the maintenance team and making sure they are scheduled by maintenance planner.
  • Work orders written by monitors are evaluated for proper descriptions, before pictures are taken, printed, and attached to work order, signatures from shift superintendents, safety manager, and ergo liaison are added, copies are made for the tracking book and then are handed in to maintenance planners to schedule the work.
  • Use HMP/exhibit tracking list to know they need to talk to each week to make sure each HMP illness or exhibit complaining of pain gets as many touches as possible with ergonomics during their time in the medical management program.
  • Attend and assist in New hire orientation and equipment fitting day to make sure new hires are properly fitted for their equipment before they hit the floors.
  • Organize and help ergo liaison.
  • Identify high risk jobs and work on high-risk job studies.
  • Job site analysis, employee feedback meetings, identify improvements, write work orders, plan work to be completed, and follow up on improvements.
  • Help ergo liaison organize and facilitate monthly ergo awareness events.
  • Help ergo liaison develop and further educate new and seasoned full time ergo monitors on their job responsibilities and the elements of the ergonomics program.
  • Help supervisors and leads with understanding the elements of the ergonomics program through ergonomics related safety contacts out of the floors.
