About The Position

ER Tech Full-Time 2nd Shift Emergency Department I Corbin , KY Baptist Health Corbin Emergency Department (ED) is a Level IV Trauma Designated unit with 28 beds that provides comprehensive, around-the-clock care to patients of all ages. The department cares for a wide range of conditions, from non-emergent complaints to life-threatening illnesses and injuries. A dedicated split-flow area supports efficient evaluation and treatment of fast-track patients with lower acuity needs. Additionally, the ED includes a behavioral health intake area designed to safely assess and manage patients presenting with mental health and behavioral health concerns. Professional caregiver working under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse. Responsible for providing assigned care according to scope of practice. Has adequate knowledge to approach patients of all age groups.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• BLS/ACLS
• Glucometer Training

Nice To Haves

• Previous laboratory or customer service experience preferred.
• Data entry and computer experience and /or phlebotomy, point of care testing experience preferred.
• Nursing Assistant experience or prior phlebotomy training/experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient admission, orientation to room and safety features, and securing valuables.
• Obtain vital signs, apply cardiac monitors, and perform EKG testing with proper lead placement.
• Support nurses and providers in patient care, including transfers, discharges, splinting, and wound care.
• Collect blood, urine, and other specimens following hospital policy.
• Recognize and report abnormal heart rhythms or vital signs to the care team.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and safe patient care areas; locate and manage equipment.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, and staff to promote a positive environment.
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards while participating in required trainings.
