About The Position

As an ER Tech, you will provide crucial support and direct patient care in the fast-paced Emergency Department, ensuring efficient operations and compassionate assistance during critical moments. Every day you will expertly assist with patient admissions and discharges, perform vital signs and basic medical procedures, maintain a clean and organized environment, and meticulously document observations to support the nursing staff and physician team. To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding adaptability, strong communication skills, and a calm, proactive demeanor, contributing significantly to timely patient care and a smooth-running ER. Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse within the scope of practice of a nursing assistant. Includes: activities of daily living, vital signs, lab draws, EKG's, ambulation, meals and routine treatment procedures. Demonstrates proficiency in phlebotomy and EKG's. Able to assist physician with procedures as necessary. Reports all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the patient's condition to the licensed nurse. Records patient care measures and treatments given on the patient's electronic medical record. Performs EKG's on all chest pain patients. Assist patient with toilet needs Provide bedpan, urinal or commode

Requirements

  • High School Graduate General Studies or equivalent technical training, upon hire
  • High School GED General Studies or equivalent technical training, upon hire
  • 1-2 years of acute care experience
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: CA, upon hire
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse: CA, upon hire
  • Emergency Medical Technician: CA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of emergency department experience (or at least 1-2 years Pre-Hospital EMT or Paramedic experience)
