About The Position

This position serves as both an Emergency Room Technician (EDT) and a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) within the Emergency Department. As an EDT, the individual works under the direction of an RN/LPN to assist with patient care activities, performing tasks delegated according to the Ohio Board of Nursing and Atrium Medical Center guidelines. As a HUC, the individual coordinates the daily clerical activities of the nursing unit, directly and indirectly impacting patient outcomes and care provided to patients, families, and significant others.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS CPR certificate (can be obtained during orientation).
• Finished EMT, STNA, CNA, or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training OR helped care for patients in the past 5 years (like taking their temperature, bathing them, or helping them use the restroom) OR currently in nursing school and finished one clinical rotation.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, even with interruptions, while remaining pleasant.
• Computer proficiency.
• Good organizational skills.
• Effective communication and listening skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hospital experience.

Responsibilities
