About The Position

ER Tech/CNA - FULL-TIME CNA/ ER Tech RESPONSIBILITIES: As a CNA/ER Technician, you will provide basic patient care under the direction of licensed nursing staff in both the Medical/Surgical and Emergency Department settings. You will support patient care activities, assist with daily living needs, monitor and document patient conditions, and help ensure a safe, comfortable, and efficient healthcare environment. Other responsibilities include: Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, mobility, and personal hygiene. Answer patient call lights and respond to patient needs. Obtain and document vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, oxygen saturation, weight, and pain levels. Assist with repositioning, transfers, ambulation, and transportation of patients throughout the facility. Monitor patient intake and output and report changes to nursing staff. Observe patients for changes in condition and communicate concerns to the nurse in charge. Assist with basic nursing procedures including simple dressings, thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, and perineal care. Assist Emergency Department staff with patient intake, registration updates, and documentation within the electronic health record (EHR). Perform 12-lead EKGs after required training and competency validation. Transport laboratory specimens following established procedures. Use overhead paging systems to communicate emergency alerts and notifications. Collect information from nurses, physicians, and caregivers regarding patient care plans. Assist with meal setup, feeding, and hydration needs while following dietary restrictions and preferences. Clean, restock, and maintain patient care equipment and supplies. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Assist with room turnover, linen changes, and cleaning of patient care areas. Serve as a unit secretary when needed. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital committees as assigned. Assist with patient care on the Medical/Surgical unit when Emergency Department volumes permit. Attend required meetings, educational programs, workshops, and in-service training. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

No previous experience required.
Completion of a 72-hour CNA course required.
Ability to provide care to patients of all ages, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
Ability to meet all required background check standards.
Ability to navigate and utilize computer systems.
Ability to document accurately in the current EMR system.
Ability to perform and document patient vital signs.
Ability to assist with patient transfers and mobility.
Ability to learn and perform EKGs following training and competency requirements.
Ability to utilize electronic health records for patient registration and documentation support.
