ER Student Nurse Tech (PRN)
About The Position
Parkland Health Center, part of BJC HealthCare, offers a unique blend of world-class medicine and deep local roots. With two locations in St. Francois County, Missouri, Parkland Health Center provides quality inpatient and outpatient services. The Emergency Room operates on a 24/7 basis, providing support to triage, diagnose, and treat patients presenting for emergency services in a timely and customer-focused manner, regardless of their ability to pay. As an ER Student Nurse Tech, you will provide multi-skilled, direct patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse. This role requires completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program
- Completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent (fundamentals, foundations, or adult/peds health)
- PRN employment status requires working 24 hours every six-weeks

Responsibilities
- Assists nurse with patient and family education.
- Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology.
- Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
- Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
- Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
- Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
- Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
