ER RN - Emergency Room Registered Nurse
About The Position
MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. This role involves providing and directing safe, effective, and culturally competent care to patients with urgent and emergent medical conditions. The position utilizes evidence-based practice and critical thinking to assess, triage, plan, implement, and evaluate care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The Emergency Room (ED) RN manages a diverse patient population across all age groups and conditions, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and behavioral health emergencies. This role also includes supervising and coordinating care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, Emergency Room Techs, and other ED team members, as well as facilitating communication with physicians, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. The nurse will adhere to MercyOne’s performance expectations and uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values of MercyOne.
Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing required.
- Current Iowa RN license or compact RN license recognized by the State of Iowa
- Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required only if the unit has telemetry monitoring capabilities.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing(BSN) preferred.
