MercyOne operates two hospital-based skilled nursing units and a 40-bed nursing home. We are looking to hire a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department! Schedule: .6 FTE 2 (12 hr) day shifts per week Every 3rd weekend Every 3rd holiday

Requirements

  • Associate degree in nursing
  • Current Iowa RN license, ( current Illinois (IL) license if working in IL)
  • Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) only if the unit has telemetry monitoring capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing( BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and directs safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
  • Utilizes evidence-based practice and critical thinking to assess, triage, plan, implement, and evaluate care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
  • Manages a diverse patient population across all age groups and conditions, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and behavioral health emergencies.
  • Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, Emergency Room Techs, and other ED team members.
  • Facilitates communication with physicians, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Adheres to MercyOne’s performance expectations and upholds the Mission, Vision, and Values of MercyOne.
