About The Position

Gonzales Healthcare Systems is hiring an ER Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care in accordance with the organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The role is on the 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift at a 33-bed general hospital in Gonzales, Texas, which provides inpatient acute care and has a Level IV Trauma Designation.

The RN implements and monitors patient care plans, monitors and communicates patient condition, coordinates care across disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and coordinates discharge planning with the healthcare team.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, obtained before the start or transfer date; or a temporary or current Registered Nurse license to practice in Texas, obtained before hire or transfer; or a current home-state license qualifying for multistate recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact, obtained before hire or transfer.
• BLS credential from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS and PALS credentials from the American Heart Association, or obtain them within six months of hire or transfer.
• TNCC certification within one year of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
