About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced ER environment. The ER has 33 patient care rooms, 25 equipped with cardiac monitors, a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, and an average volume of approximately 210 patients per day. Support staff include ER Technicians with EMT, MA, or CNA backgrounds. The facility is Stroke Certified and serves as the base hospital for EMS.

The position is an evening shift with a 3 PM start time and 12-hour shifts. The schedule includes two weekends every four weeks and two of every three holidays. No floating outside of the ER is permitted. Floor-specific orientation with a preceptor will last up to six shifts. Navy blue scrubs are required; scrub jackets and undershirts must also be navy, white, or black. Central monitoring for telehealth services is available.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of nursing experience in an ER setting.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience; applicants should specify prior use and recency.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to ER patients according to established protocols and standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and mid-level practitioners to deliver optimal patient care.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly.
• Manage patient admissions and discharges, including stabilizing patients in accordance with EMTALA regulations.
• Participate in patient education and health promotion.
