About The Position

Participates in all clinical pharmacy services, supports distributive pharmacy services, and ensures the pharmacy provides optimal pharmaceutical care to all patients on a daily basis. Facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical and distributive processes, as well as pharmacy programs that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, cost-effective drug therapies for all age groups. Ensures age-appropriate, safe, and cost-effective medication therapies for patients. Contributes to the educational goals of the department. Enhances the performance, accuracy, and efficiency of pharmacy processes, to promote patient safety and improve outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Pharm D degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Required licensure as a pharmacist and in good standing with the OK State Board of Pharmacy
  • Required to maintain preceptor license through the OK State Board of Pharmacy upon hire
  • Required to achieve/maintain ASHP-endorsed PGY1 residency program preceptorship upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmacy Residency preferred but not required
  • Preferred completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or equivalent, but not required
  • Preferred clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting
  • Strongly encouraged to achieve/maintain board-certification in related practice area

Responsibilities

  • Ensures age-appropriate, safe, and cost-effective medication therapies for patients
  • Participates in departmental targeted clinical programs as assigned
  • Process orders and dispense medications according to established policies, procedures, protocols, and regulatory requirements
  • Administration of the ACGME accreditation and reporting requirements to external agencies
  • Contribute to the educational goals of the department
  • Enhance the performance, accuracy, and efficiency of pharmacy processes, to promote patient safety and improve outcomes
