About The Position

Top investment bank is seeking an Equity Research Associate with deep scientific background to support a #1 ranked SMID Biotech/4x ranked team. This role involves conducting proprietary research, building financial models, writing research reports, and analyzing industry news and clinical data. The position requires an advanced degree in life sciences and experience in biopharmaceuticals equity research or a related field. The ideal candidate is competitive, driven, analytical, and a strong communicator.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (PhD/MD/PharmD) in life sciences
• 1+ years of experience in biopharmaceuticals equity research, buy-side, healthcare consulting, or biopharmaceutical industry
• Sharp analytical skills in dissecting preclinical/clinical data
• High proficiency in written/verbal communication

Nice To Haves

• Immunology/neuroscience/oncology experience is a plus
• Competitiveness, drive, strong work ethic, creativity, desire to be great, enthusiasm to learn, and a team player
• Statistical background/Python is desirable
• Experience with clinical trial statistics and designs are a plus

Responsibilities

• Conducting proprietary research evaluating drug pipelines by analyzing preclinical and clinical data, attending medical conferences, and speaking with key opinion leaders
• Building and maintaining financial models
• Writing research reports for companies under coverage
• Creating statistical models/analyses of clinical trials
• Interpret and analyze industry/company news, patent law and litigations, and clinical data
• Conceiving and executing differentiated project ideas
• Communicating with company management, internal sales and trading personnel, and institutional investors
