About The Position

Piper Sandler is seeking an Equity Research Associate to join their Large Cap Banks team in their New York City office. The role involves conducting extensive company and industry research, creating financial models, writing reports, developing investment recommendations, and building relationships with company management teams. As associates gain expertise, they will also be responsible for marketing research and recommendations to the sales force and institutional investors. Requirements

1-3 years of Equity Research or Investment Banking experience.
Ability to thrive in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
Ability to think quickly on one's feet and work independently.
Strong interest in the stock market.
Demonstrated record of professional, academic, and personal achievement.
Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills.
Outstanding quantitative and organizational skills.
Strong competitive spirit balanced by a proven ability to work as part of a team.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Electrical Engineering or related degrees.
Strong financial modeling experience.
Securities Industry Essentials, Series 86 and 87 required (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

Conduct extensive company and industry research in partnership with the senior analyst.
Create financial models and valuation analyses.
Write company reports, industry reports, and develop investment recommendations.
Form relationships with company management teams through meetings, calls, and roadshows.
Make company visits and attend industry conferences.
Market the team's research and investment recommendations to the sales force and institutional investors (as expertise develops).
