About The Position

This role involves conducting independent research to formulate investment recommendations on individual securities within the technology sector. The analyst will consider forecasted growth, competitive positioning, financial reporting quality, and management. Responsibilities include constructing financial models to identify key questions, critical drivers, and forecast future revenue, earnings, and cash flows. The role also requires undertaking research visits and meetings to deepen industry expertise, including engagement with competitors, customers, and suppliers. Findings will be compiled and communicated to Portfolio Managers through written notes, reports, and presentations. The analyst will also contribute to broader team priorities and other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field
  • 3-5 years of equity investment analyst experience required, preferably on the buy side; or an MBA degree with 2+ years post-MBA experience
  • Strong stock picking skills, with a proven track record of adding value
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including proficiency in building and maintaining financial models to forecast future revenue, earnings, and cash flows
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Curiosity, initiative and drive
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate articulately, concisely and persuasively
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently, as well as function effectively within a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships internally and externally
  • Commitment to doing whatever it takes to grow the business

Nice To Haves

  • Post-graduate degree such as MBA, and CFA and/or CPA
  • Experience covering the technology sector within an equity research or investment role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research independently to formulate investment recommendations on individual securities within the technology sector, giving careful consideration to forecasted growth, competitive positioning, quality of financial reporting and management
  • Construct models to identify the key questions that need to be answered in the research process, determine critical drivers and forecast future revenue, earnings and cash flows
  • Undertake research visits and meetings to develop and deepen industry expertise, including engagement with competitors, customers, suppliers and other relevant constituents
  • Compile and communicate research findings with Portfolio Managers through written notes, reports, and presentations
  • Contribute to broader team priorities and other responsibilities as needed
