The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is committed to ensuring that equity, inclusion, and human rights are valued and embedded into the organization’s culture, policies, and practices. As part of this ongoing commitment, the EPS is seeking an Equity and Inclusion Advisor to design, coordinate, and implement equity, inclusion, and human rights principles and practices using a Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) framework. Reporting to the Director of the Equity, Inclusion and Human Rights Branch, the E&I Advisor will be responsible for complex and specialized work involving the goals outlined in EPS operational strategies, including the Human Rights framework. Implementing this work within an organizational culture requires advanced analytical strategies and project management skills to track and evaluate processes and outcomes. The E&I Advisor will be required to conduct equity and inclusion training within the organization, which requires highly developed interpersonal skills, knowledge translation abilities, creativity and experience in facilitation. Furthermore, the individual in this position is required to work on a small team of Equity and Inclusion professionals and have a creative open-minded approach to problem solving and engagement. The E&I Advisor will have the ability to draft and respond with recommendations on how EPS addresses their internal and external environments and audience from an equity, inclusion and human rights lens.
