About The Position

Schroders is a global investment manager seeking a talented stock picker focused on the Industrial sector. The role requires a solid understanding of fundamental research and financial modeling, strong communication skills, and a willingness to be accountable for recommendations. The position is based in Schroders’ New York Office but is supported with tools for remote work when necessary. The US Small and Mid Cap Team manages approximately $7.5 billion across three strategies and focuses on quality, inflecting fundamentals, rising returns, and valuation discipline. The team allocates investments across three alpha sources: mispriced growth, steady eddies, and turnarounds.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years in the Financial industry, with a minimum of 5 years covering Industrials.
  • A thorough grounding in fundamental stock analysis, financial modelling, and the Small and Mid-Cap Industrial sector.
  • A detailed knowledge of stocks within Industrial sectors with a thorough perspective on the factors that outperform across different parts of the market and economic cycle.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and advocacy skills such that they can make and present a compelling case for, or against, the inclusion of stocks in the portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct bottom-up fundamental stock selection, driven by proprietary research.
  • Work closely with the Portfolio Manager and Head of Research to identify the best opportunities to outperform the Industrials Sector.
  • Assess investment recommendations relative to the Industrials universe across different strategy benchmarks (Russell Small, SMID and Mid Cap benchmarks).
  • Present stock recommendations and investment packs to the Portfolio Manager and Head of Research.
  • Actively discuss weightings in each name within the Industrials Sector.
  • Be involved in all stages of the investment process from sourcing opportunities, analyzing investments for inclusion in the portfolio and assisting the portfolio manager in committing capital.

Benefits

  • Base salary in a range of $200,000 to $240,000
  • Tools necessary to work remotely when required.
