About The Position

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Responsible for general maintenance and repairs; Perform minor door hardware repairs and replace door keycard reader batteries Repair or replace in room safe components, including batteries, unlocks and full replacements Handle basic furniture repairs Complete curtain repairs and replacements Stretch and repair carpet as needed HVAC & Airflow Change air filters on a quarterly schedule Replace A/C actuators Clean A/C components such as vents, fans and related parts Replace thermostats when required Electrical & Lighting Replace light bulbs throughout guest rooms and public areas of hotel Plumbing & Fixtures Clear clogged sinks, toilets and shower drains as needed Replace sink, toilet and shower hardware as needed Interior Touch-Ups Patch and paint walls and ceilings as needed Perform trim touch-ups as needed Follow Downstream Casino Resorts preventative maintenance program to ensure highest level of quality and service is provided. Assists in the general maintenance of the interior of the hotel rooms and public areas of the hotel; repairing, altering, or reconstructing equipment and facilities, using appropriate material, supplies, or parts. Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner Performs repairs and maintenance on housekeeping equipment. Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner always. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies. Attending all necessary training meetings. Assist in other projects, as directed. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old or older upon employment.
  • High school diploma or its equivalency preferred.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
  • Must be able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
  • Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations and be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
  • Visual range must include near and far distances.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures including hot or cold temperatures.
  • Auditory range must include near and far distances.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
  • Physical ability to lift 100 lbs.
  • Ability to look over your shoulder.
  • Dexterity to use hand tools.
  • Ability to drive standard shift vehicles.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
