About The Position

The Equipment Technician will be responsible for safely cleaning and disinfecting medical equipment and maintaining appropriate par levels for each department. This role requires adherence to hospital policies, infection control processes, and safety regulations. The technician will also be responsible for managing supplies, transporting equipment, and maintaining a clean work area. Communication with various hospital staff and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential. Driving to various locations may be necessary.

Requirements

  • Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to read inventory forms.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with the team.
  • Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
  • Completed all safety and task training certification.
  • A valid driver's license may be required for this position based on business needs.
  • Employees required to drive as part of their job duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Safely clean and disinfect medical equipment using approved disinfectants.
  • Maintain appropriate par levels for medical equipment in each department.
  • Answer and respond to phone calls and emails from hospital staff.
  • Read par sheets and inventory levels.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and infection control processes.
  • Obtain supplies via Stock Acquisition Process.
  • Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
  • Operate a pushcart for transporting equipment.
  • Maintain daily upkeep of the assigned area.
  • Report incidents and hazardous conditions to the supervisor.
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Stop at-risk behavior of others and self.
  • Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
  • Perform repetitive tasks.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
  • Take direction and respond to supervision.
  • Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
  • Fill in during staff shortages.
  • Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
  • Use proper personal protective equipment.
  • Present a professional appearance and conduct.
  • Understand customer service and satisfaction.
  • Drive to various work locations, customer sites, or company facilities as needed.
  • Understand reporting systems and the environment.
