About The Position

Sewickley Heights Golf Club is seeking a Head Mechanic/Equipment Technician to join their team. This role is responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and overall management of the golf course equipment fleet. The position works closely with the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, and Grounds Staff to ensure the operation runs efficiently, safely, and at a high standard. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated to continually improve and modernize the equipment management program.

Requirements

Experience with hydraulic, electrical, diesel, gasoline and small engine systems.
Ability to grind and adjust reels, bedknives, and rotary blades.
Proficiency in maintaining accurate service records and tracking documents.
Skills in managing, tracking, and ordering parts inventory.
Effective communication skills for equipment needs.
Ability to evaluate fleet condition and contribute to long-term equipment planning.
Willingness to assist grounds staff operational needs when necessary.
Ability to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience at a golf club or similar facility.
Familiarity with Toro, Jacobsen, Kubota, Cat, and Salsco equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance.
Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, diesel, gasoline and small engine systems.
Grind and adjust reels, bedknives, and rotary blades.
Maintain accurate service records and necessary tracking documents.
Assist with equipment setup and preparation for daily course maintenance.
Maintain an organized and safe equipment facility.
Manage, track, and order parts inventory.
Communicate equipment needs effectively.

Assist the grounds staff operational need when necessary.
