Meet the Team At Dexcom, our Test Lab team is at the forefront of ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of the equipment that supports the development and manufacturing aof life-changing Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) technology. As an Equipment Technician III, you will serve as a senior technical resource, partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to solve complex equipment challenges, drive reliability improvements, and support innovative solutions that help improve the lives of people living with diabetes. Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, electronic assemblies, instrumentation, sensors, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Demonstrated success independently troubleshooting and resolving complex equipment issues with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience conducting root cause investigations and implementing effective long-term corrective actions.
  • Experience utilizing CMMS systems such as Maximo or similar maintenance management software.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively support a dynamic engineering and laboratory environment.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience and High School diploma/certificate or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related field, preferred.
  • Experience supporting laboratory, reliability, validation, manufacturing, or engineering development environments, preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic modules, PCB assemblies, instrumentation systems, and test equipment, preferred.
  • Proficiency with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, and other electronic diagnostic tools, preferred.
  • Experience supporting qualification, validation, and calibration activities in a regulated environment, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Reliability Engineering principles, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), and continuous improvement methodologies, preferred.
  • Experience working with data acquisition systems and test methodologies, preferred.
  • A proactive approach to solving technical challenges and driving equipment reliability improvements.
  • Ability to mentor others, collaborate across functions, and lead complex troubleshooting efforts helps strengthen team capability and operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical expert for assigned Test Lab equipment and systems.
  • Independently troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, electronic modules, instrumentation, sensors, data acquisition systems, power distribution systems, and test equipment.
  • Perform advanced root cause analysis of equipment failures and lead troubleshooting efforts for complex and recurring issues.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and system documentation to diagnose failures and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, Reliability, and Operations teams to support equipment investigations and improvement projects.
  • Lead equipment recovery efforts during critical downtime events and provide technical guidance to technicians and cross-functional partners.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintainability, safety, and performance.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, validation, and decommissioning activities.
  • Develop, revise, and improve maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, equipment binders, and technical documentation.
  • Analyze equipment performance data and maintenance history to identify trends and drive sustainable corrective actions.
  • Support calibration activities and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical mentorship, coaching, and knowledge sharing to Equipment Technician I and II team members.
  • Assist Engineering with equipment modifications, upgrades, prototype builds, evaluations, and special projects.
  • Support spare parts management activities and recommend critical spare strategies for key equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, GMP, GDP, LOTO procedures, and company policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
