About The Position

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Equipment Technician 2 to support semiconductor wafer fabrication operations in a cleanroom environment. In this role, you will help maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize diffusion furnace and wet sink equipment to support high tool availability, reliable production output, and continuous operational improvement. You will partner closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to reduce downtime, improve equipment performance, and uphold the highest standards for safety, quality, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electromechanical Technology, Semiconductor Manufacturing, or a related technical field; equivalent technical or military experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining semiconductor processing equipment, preferably including diffusion furnaces and/or linear wet sinks.
  • Strong working knowledge of electronic, pneumatic, robotic, and vacuum systems, with demonstrated component-level troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and use diagnostic tools such as digital voltmeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Strong communication, time management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail, strong follow-through, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced cleanroom manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted; heavier lifting may require assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Akrion, JST, or similar linear batch process wet sinks, as well as ASM A400 Classic, ASM DUO, and TEL Alpha-8 SE/SEi furnaces preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all cleanroom protocols, safety requirements, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to equipment performance trends within the assigned module.
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance with a focus on root cause resolution and long-term equipment reliability.
  • Execute structured, model-based troubleshooting plans to reduce tool downtime and improve recovery time.
  • Analyze tool performance data during maintenance activities to identify trends, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement.
  • Use Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to evaluate tool health, identify process deviations, and support stable manufacturing performance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready work area in alignment with 5S principles.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, findings, corrective actions, and system updates.
  • Share technical knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices to support team development and cross-training.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that increase uptime, reduce long-duration downs, and lower cost of ownership.
