About The Position

Opus provides technologies and services that assist state partners in meeting EPA Clean Air regulations by managing vehicle inspection programs, Vehicle Information Databases, and developing remote vehicle monitoring solutions. The Equipment Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on emission testing equipment, managing parts inventory, and ensuring accurate documentation. This role supports station management and requires a proactive approach to operational excellence, reporting to the Systems Support Manager.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Possess a current, active, and unrestricted Driver’s License.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player.
  • Ability to build a good working relationship with station and HQ personnel.
  • Ability to work efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced, busy shop environment with a smile and positive attitude.
  • Commitment to working safely around operating motor vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of electronics and mechanics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to Emission Testing Equipment.
  • Participate in company-provided training for equipment including Computers, Peripherals, Printers, Gas Analyzers, Dynamometers, RPM Units, OBD Units, Bar Code Readers, and Pneumatics.
  • Perform parts inventory and requisition supplies as needed.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and record all maintenance and repair activity.
  • Provide station management with phone consultation regarding immediate equipment issues when not yet on-site.
  • Other duties as assigned by management team.
