About The Position

This position is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and operational readiness of company equipment for an assigned facility, project, or region, ensuring equipment assets are safe, reliable, cost‑effective, and aligned with corporate equipment standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing a significant fleet of heavy civil construction equipment and heavy highway trucks, including supervision of personnel and oversight of diagnostics, repair, and maintenance activities in both field operations and shop environments
  • Advanced knowledge of heavy civil construction equipment, including dozers, excavators, cranes, paving, concrete, and asphalt equipment
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop technical teams
  • Expertise in equipment diagnostics, including electrical, hydraulic, welding, and fabrication systems
  • Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and MSHA regulations and inspection requirements
  • Solid understanding of construction operations such as grading, excavation, hoisting, paving, and structures
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, OEM diagnostic software, telematics systems, and basic financial tools
  • Ability to present technical and operational information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal formats
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive

  • Comply, understand, and support company safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
  • Ability and willingness to abide by company code of conduct daily

Responsibilities

  • Manage the diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and reinvestment analysis of equipment for the assigned facility, project, or region to ensure assets are safe, work‑ready, and protected in accordance with corporate equipment standards
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee preventative maintenance and repair activities to minimize downtime and ensure equipment availability supports operational schedules
  • Maintain accurate equipment records, including inventory, maintenance history, repairs, oil sampling, and servicing data, to preserve company investments and support data‑driven decisions
  • Supervise shop and field technicians by managing hiring, work assignments, coaching, development, performance management, and disciplinary actions to maintain a productive and safe workforce
  • Coordinate with operations, safety, and business unit leadership to align equipment availability with project schedules and ensure timely completion of inspections and maintenance activities
  • Inspect damaged equipment in shop or field environments to determine normal wear, damage, or abuse, and communicate findings to leadership to support appropriate repair and accountability decisions
  • Ensure maintenance and repair practices comply with OEM and company standards, utilizing OEM parts whenever possible to maximize warranty coverage and control operating costs
  • Review and analyze equipment, tool, and parts purchase or replacement requests and provide recommendations to ensure return on investment objectives and budget requirements are met
  • Evaluate repair versus replacement options, including use of in‑house labor or external vendors, to determine the most cost‑effective and operationally sound solutions
  • Oversee the transportation of equipment, securing required permits, inspections, licenses, and documentation to ensure compliance with corporate policy and regulatory requirements
  • Lead and support safety initiatives, including conducting safety meetings and participating in incident reviews, to promote a safe and compliant work environment
