About The Position

Diversified Maintenance is hiring an Equipment Specialist. The Equipment Specialist is an essential position for the productivity of the equipment across the divisions of Diversified Maintenance. Proper positioning, maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment is vital to delivering the customer experience we promise our customers. As a key member of the procurement team, this position works cross functionally with other operating areas to properly execute supply and logistics needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of management experience in a service-related industry, preferably janitorial industry
  • Business level oral and written communication skills; ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments
  • Excellent customer service skills; active listening skills
  • Ability to lead and encourage teamwork; ability to negotiate and resolve conflict

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual; ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish, French, or other languages
  • Prior cleaning or janitorial experience
  • Familiarity with custodial practices and commercial cleaning standards
  • Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and waxing
  • Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Oversee equipment repair and maintenance; self-perform and coordinate third party subcontractors
  • Tracking; identifying location of all equipment in field
  • Open order tracking and delivery
  • Develop schedule for in-field maintenance
  • Develop schedule and training for preventative maintenance
  • Consultation; assist in determining proper equipment needs for buildings
  • Developing Plan and Execution of Regional Repair Centers
  • Warehouse: inventory accuracy, tracking, allocation and logistics; return of inventory from closed jobs; reallocation of inventory in field for productivity purposes; distribution of available inventory to field; oversee Freight logistics – small parcel, LTL, Truckload
  • Fleet: Oversee and manage physical acquisition of Fleet vehicles
  • Development and Startups: Partner with cross functional teams to develop startup equipment and tools strategy and execution; travel into field to assist with start-up businesses and requisition of equipment when operations are terminated
  • Birmingham Facility: Execute work orders for proper functioning of Birmingham facility
