About The Position

As a Senior Equipment Specialist, you will act as a primary technical advisor to senior military/civilian leadership, program managers, and maintenance technicians. You will lead technical investigations, oversee complex aircraft modification programs, optimize sustainment strategies, and collaborate across multi-disciplinary Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure the combat effectiveness and operational readiness of critical aircraft systems.

Requirements

• Deliver dedicated Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) support, including drafting, reviewing, validating, and managing the execution of TCTOs to apply critical safety, operational, and structural aircraft modifications.
• Collaborate with engineers and program managers to determine the optimal methods of TCTO implementation, monitoring modification kit availability, compliance timelines, and fleet-wide installation progress.
• Support trial installations, modification kit proofs, and TCTO/technical data verification for newly integrated systems.
• Assist in reporting findings, kit issues, and corrective actions while making recommendations to the responsible engineer or Program Manager (PM) during the modification process.
• Support feasibility studies and technical evaluations to ensure modified systems, subsystems, and new equipment are mutually compatible and meet overall operational requirements.
• Evaluate Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), modification proposals, and trade studies to assess technical adequacy, system compatibility, and overall operational impact.
• Maintain oversight over the physical and technical integration of aircraft modifications, ensuring seamless compatibility with existing weapon systems, subsystems, and structural components.
• Support program requirements utilizing critical databases to include, but not limited to: D043, Commercial Asset Visibility Air Force (CAV AF), FedMall, Joint Engineering Data Management Information and Control System (JEDMICS), Enhanced Technical Information Management System (ETIMS), Haystack, and other databases relating to the aircraft and its systems to determine problem areas.
• Develop, modify, prepare, and validate documentation in relation to automated logistics or maintenance data reporting systems and management information systems to ensure all pertinent supply data is captured and recorded.
• Accomplish studies, reviews, and analyses of technical problems/malfunctions affecting assigned equipment generated from a variety of sources, including Technical Assistance Requests (TARs), Deficiency Reports (DRs), AFTO Form 22/252s, telephone calls, Innovative Development through Employee Awareness (IDEA), and aircraft mishaps.
• Recommend appropriate corrective actions and evaluate proposed solutions from user commands and contractors for technical adequacy and economic feasibility.
• Assist in determining implementation methods, such as TCTO or technical order modifications.
• Support all aspects and levels of program IPTs to include engineering, program management, other equipment specialists, lead/chief engineers, and civilian/military leadership.
• Liaise with division personnel, other AFLCMC directorates, AFLCMC headquarters, AFRC, AMC, ACC, NGB, AFSOC, prime weapon system contractors/subcontractors, and other Government or private sector personnel.
• Assist Government equipment specialists, program managers, and engineers in conducting special research projects.
• Provide product assistance to the PM and Product Support Manager (PSM) for the execution of the PSM’s duties as the Total Life Cycle Systems Manager.
• Assess the logistical and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) impacts of proposed aircraft modifications, ensuring proper provisioning of spares, technical data updates, and support equipment for newly modified systems.
• Perform tasks related to total life cycle supportability from concept definition and technical demonstration through disposal.
• Apply knowledge and experience in acquisition logistics philosophy, policies, and procedures to Air Force systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities throughout their life cycles.
• Provide assistance to the development and maintenance of Post Production Support Plans (PPSP), Post Production Transition Plans (PPTP), and Transition to Post Production (TPP).
• Organize and manage critical aspects of the development, production, and deployment of capabilities utilizing DoD, USAF, and local logistics policies.
• Assist sustainment teams through data analysis, acquisition management, procurement, and logistics data tracking of critical assets, insurance spares, tooling, and related materials.
• Coordinate all integrated logistics elements, including spares, Support Equipment (SE), training, facilities, technical data, and provisioning to support baseline and modified aircraft configurations.
• Perform analyses of sustainment or related Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues, research parts availability, establish supply priorities, resolve Mission Impaired Capability Awaiting Parts (MICAP) situations, and recommend suitable replacements.
• Generate and review logistics documentation, including Integrated Logistics Support Plans (ILSP), Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP), Technical Orders (TOs), technical manuals, electronic technical manuals, illustrated parts breakdowns, and work specifications.
• Assist in reviewing and making recommendations on CDRLs, SOWs, SOW inputs to Program Management Plans, replies to Initial Capability Documents (ICD/CDD/CPD), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and MOAs/MOUs.
• Participate in and support program reviews, Program Management Reviews (PMRs), workload conferences, and other key meetings.
• Setup, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, Video Teleconferences (VTCs), and conferences.
