About The Position

The Production Associate is responsible for setting up and operating automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. This position reports to the Facilities and Equipment Manager and is located in Cortland, NY and is an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, power and control circuits, control panels, instrumentation, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, piping, and general welding; work from schematics, blueprints, layouts, and Bills of Materials to support manufacturing operations. Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns and perform preventive maintenance, recommending and implementing modifications or replacement strategies to improve reliability, safety, and performance; inspect systems and ensure safe operation of electrical and mechanical equipment. Support continuous improvement and operational readiness, including machine fabrication, spare parts inventory management, and flexibility to work overtime, off-shifts, or attend external trade training as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or Equivalent.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, specifications, charts, tables, and/or adjustable measuring instruments and gauges requiring interpretation.
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience or training in electrical, pipe fitting, or one of the allied trades.
  • Ability to drive various equipment occasionally.
  • Ability to lift 0-10 LBS continuously, 11-20 LBS frequently, 21-100 LBS occasionally, push/ pull 0-25 LBS frequently, and 26-100 LBS occasionally with assistance if needed.
  • Bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, reach above the shoulder continuously, crawl frequently, climb.
