About The Position

Under the direction of the Athletic Equipment Manager, the successful candidate(s) for this position will provide assistance to the Equipment Room of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, while learning key functions of the position’s related duties. This is a unique space where student athletes are supported behind the scenes by both coaches and full-time staff through clerical work.

Requirements

• Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
• Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
• In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
• Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
• Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet browsers/ e-mail programs.
• Ability to learn additional associated programs necessary to Athletics Equipment.
• Willingness to learn basic facility maintenance, custodial, & laundry procedures.
• Must be able to lift 35-50 pounds and adjust to working in various weather conditions (i.e. heat, cold, rain, wind).
• Periods of time with extended standing may occur.
• Excellent verbal and written communication/ customer service skills.
• Skill in understanding and following oral and written instructions.
• Positive attitude and teamwork to accomplish goals.
• Strong attention to detail and strict adherence to rules.
• Ability to learn and follow Cal State Fullerton, Big West, and NCAA rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining clean and orderly work and storage areas.
• Issue towels, uniforms, & practice gear as directed and per department procedure.
• Assist with the receiving and distribution of departmental deliveries.
• Assists with the inventory of equipment and apparel as directed.
• Assist with game set-up as needed.
• Maintain written and electronic records.
