About The Position

This position oversees the maintenance, operation, and repair of the motor fleet at Indian Creek Correctional Center. The role involves conducting training programs on vehicle, equipment, and tool maintenance, proper usage, and safety standards. The supervisor will inspect or arrange for the inspection of all fleet vehicles and heavy equipment. Responsibilities also include maintaining inventory through planning and purchasing, responding to work requests in a timely manner within a Total Maintenance System (TMS), and potentially supervising and directing the work of inmates.

Requirements

Knowledge of repair, maintenance techniques, and shop management.
Skill in use of all related hand and power tools and equipment to service and maintain gasoline and diesel vehicles/equipment.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a variety of logs and records.
Ability to diagnose equipment problems and make repairs.
Ability to interpret all related manuals.

Nice To Haves

Experience in automotive repair dealing with gasoline/diesel powered equipment repair.
Skills in the operation of computerized diagnostics/techniques and power tools.
Commercial Driver’s License.
Experience utilizing TMS System.
Experience providing training/guidance to others.
