EQUIPMENT OPERATOR - TN, AL, MS
About The Position
We are seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of experienced Equipment Operator who can meet the requirements. Please review the following requirements carefully before applying. Only applicants with verifiable dredge experience and qualifications should apply. Applicants must meet all of the listed qualifications to be considered for the position. Those who cannot meet these requirements will not be considered. Candidates will be required to demonstrate their ability to meet and perform these requirements upon hire. Must have reliable transportation with the ability to float between different projects (locations/states). OVERVIEW The Equipment Operator Land supports the dredging and construction projects by operating Track Hoe/ Dozer/Excavator/Backhoe/Marsh Buggy, or other heavy equipment.
Requirements
- Three or more years of Heavy Equipment operating experience
- Excellent safety and mechanical skills
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the position as outlined in the Functional Job Description
- Must be able to successfully pass all pre-employment screening (drug test, fit test) in addition to random drug and alcohol testing
- Must be authorized to work in the US.

- Dredging or construction experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Upholds the Company’s commitment to an injury-free workplace; leads and models safe work practices
- Follows all safety rules and regulations as well as all company policies and procedures
- Works safely around machinery; observes and instructs others in proper equipment use; uses/wears all required PPE
- Inspects and greases the equipment daily
- Checks fluid levels, overall function of the machine and other elements associated with the equipment
- Assists in making sure the machine is properly taken care of and relays any damage the equipment to the supervisor
- Performs safe operating of Excavator or other equipment as instructed
- Conducts on-site preventive maintenance and safety inspections of light and heavy marine equipment, provides reports on equipment condition, and recommends corrective action
