About The Position

The Equipment Operator works under the general supervision of the Plant Manager and operates equipment such as front-end loaders, water trucks, graders, pickup trucks, and excavators. The role includes routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, reporting needed repairs, leveling, and general site preparation, landscaping, and related assignments. The operator is responsible for proper care of equipment and supplies and for promoting workplace safety and environmental practices. The employee may work where and when directed by the plant supervisor to meet plant needs, communicate with internal and external customers, vendors, and visitors, and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
At least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
High school diploma or GED.
Basic math and computer skills.
Familiarity with, or willingness to be trained in, MSHA safety rules; plant mobile equipment safety procedures; lockout/tagout, confined spaces, and hot work policies; and handling lubricants, paints/solvents, and other environmentally sensitive materials.

Responsibilities

Operate graders for leveling.
Operate front-end loaders, excavators, water trucks, pickup trucks, and other equipment as required.
Use equipment for general site preparation, landscaping, and related assignments.
Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking oil, water, and tires.
Report maintenance and repair needs to management.
Ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, vendors, and visitors.
Work where and when directed by the plant supervisor to meet plant needs.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
