Requirements

  • Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, and graders
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and job site safety standards
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate equipment in various conditions
  • Ability to perform equipment safety inspections before and after use
  • Familiarity with equipment controls, maintenance procedures, and basic troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and grade stakes
  • High attention to detail in grading, excavation, and material handling
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing job site conditions
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs
  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
  • Experience with GPS and grade control systems
  • Experience in civil construction, pipe laying, or stormwater work

Responsibilities

  • Work as a team to safely achieve profitable job completion
  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, and graders
  • Perform grading, digging, trenching, and material handling with precision
  • Conduct pre- and post-operation safety inspections of equipment
  • Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and grade stakes
  • Maintain equipment through routine maintenance including lubrication and cleaning
  • Identify and report mechanical or safety issues promptly
  • Adapt to changing site conditions and resolve operational challenges
  • Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and signalers
  • Promote a safe and positive work environment
