About The Position

This position will play a key role in all aspects of production within the PDC produce department, maximizing the department's output and efficiency. Key deliverables include handling of product, packaging, and performing routine equipment maintenance while adhering to the highest cleanliness and sanitation standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years old or older

  • Report any unsafe conditions or accidents to your supervisor
  • Participate in mandatory or available safety training
  • Physical ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs)
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Comfortable working in a humid/rainy, warm and cold environment
  • Regularly required to talk, hear, and respond to customers and employees
  • Frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Responsibilities

  • Execute the daily production plan on time and within targeted yield rates.
  • Execution of a vigorous cleaning and preventative maintenance schedule for the produce facility and equipment.
  • Work closely with the Produce Department Manager to ensure all orders are completed.
  • Compliance with all preparatory and processing procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of all cut and pack size specifications, volume, quality, labeling, packaging and other product related guidelines per customer.
  • Intake, and prepare product for processing upon entry to production facility.
  • Play a key role in the daily pre and post operation cleanliness schedules and deployment.
  • Monitor and ensure appropriate cold chain systems are maintained throughout processing.
  • Inspect finished goods to ensure they meet or exceed product specifications.
  • Consistently review Quality, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) requirements to ensure company performance standards are met and/or exceeded.
  • Willing to work extra hours as needed per produce department's order and work needs.
  • Adhere to equipment maintenance schedules, conduct routine inspections for wear and tear, and report service requirements as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
