The Equipment Operator frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety-sensitive.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required
A minimum of 1-2 years experience operating excavators, as well as other equipment
Basic knowledge of, or interest in, hazardous waste field
Self-motivation with the desire to learn
Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
Must have a reliable form of transportation
Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)
Upon employment, you will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
Ability to work overtime on a regular basis
Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday)
Must be able to report to designated office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred but not required
Prior relevant industry experience
Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification
Willingness to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

Responsibilities

Operate excavators and fork lifts, as well as other equipment
Develop an understanding of DOT, EPA & OSHA regulations and TEI's Health and Safety Practices
Understand and execute all required paperwork
Routinely perform pre- and post-use inspections
Stabilize and solidify EPA listed hazardous waste for disposal
Process waste materials per landfill, waste to energy and recycle specifications
Work with various stabilization and treatment reagents
Maintain facility to meet/exceed permit requirements
Assist Facility Manager as requested
Maintain good attendance
