Equipment Operator
About The Position
Sun Gro Horticulture Ltd. is seeking an Equipment Operator / Maintenance Helper at their Manitoba site. This role involves operating various heavy equipment such as Loaders, Excavators, Dozers, Rock Trucks, Mulchers, Tractors, Ditchers, and Profilers. The operator will be responsible for the safe operation, fire preparedness, and maintenance of their assigned equipment. Additionally, they will assist Harvest Operations at multiple locations as needed and support the maintenance department with general repairs, oil changes, tire changes, and greasing fittings when not operating equipment. This is a weather-permitting position.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of relevant equipment experience
- Ability to work as a part of a small team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Mechanical aptitude
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Valid Driver's License
Responsibilities
- Operate multiple pieces of equipment in a safe and productive manner
- Perform daily Maintenance on equipment
- Demonstrate safe driving practices and pass a Loader Training course
- Accurately fill out Critical Control Point paperwork if required
- Collaborate with Team Members and Team Leader
- Committed to continuous improvement and efficiency
- Assist Harvest Operations at multiple locations on a regular basis as required
- Help the maintenance department with servicing mobile equipment; oil changes, tire changes, greasing fittings and other generals repairs and maintenance.
