About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring for an Equipment Operator at our facility in Nashville, TN. As an Equipment Operator, your primary responsibilities will include operating heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner, loading, moving, grading, and stockpiling materials as directed by management. You will maintain safe operating conditions while working around employees, customers, and other equipment, monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues promptly, and follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations. This role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.

Requirements

Ability to work safely in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Ability to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.
Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures and operating instructions.
Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of one year of experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
Experience operating loaders, excavators, skid steers, compactors, or similar equipment is a plus.
