About The Position

The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various types of heavy equipment in diverse environments, including industrial waste sites, landfills, and customer facilities. This role involves ensuring safe operation, performing basic maintenance, and adhering to all company and regulatory safety standards. The position requires a commitment to safety, effective communication, and the ability to perform manual labor as needed.

Requirements

  • Highschool or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with hook/roll-off trucks and wheel loaders preferred.
  • Prior experience with heavy equipment preferred.
  • CDL Class B required.
  • Able to do some manual labor and lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Safe driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with hook/roll-off trucks and wheel loaders.
  • Prior experience with heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operation of equipment combinations (Excavator, Roll Off/Hook Truck, Wheel Loader, Forklift).
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Operation of equipment in industrial waste, soil amendments and other non-hazardous solids on customer facilities, designated landfills, recycling facilities, or land sites for disposal, recycling, or beneficial use.
  • Practice and promote safety; including but not limited to, assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE.
  • Able to do some manual labor and lift 50 lbs.
  • Basic housekeeping of work area.
  • Basic care and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain communication with supervisors and team members.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Safe driving record.
  • Other duties as assigned and relevant to position.
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment.
  • Immediately reports any unsafe situations to the Manager before attempting service.
  • Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by the Manager.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with on-site customer representative(s).
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, cleaning and other duties as assigned by the Company.
  • Safe operating record.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime and/or weekends.
