Requirements

  • Self-motivated and dependable individuals
  • 18+ years of age
  • Ability to successfully complete training and obtain certification in the assigned area (to include specific equipment certification)
  • Solid math skills, including the ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Ability to follow instructions quickly, safely and accurately
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate and understand basic written/oral instructions
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals in English
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in daily task assignments and perform other general warehouse tasks, as assigned

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • 1 year or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-2 years of experience as a certified equipment operator
  • Knowledge of RF (radio frequency) scanners
  • Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Operating powered industrial trucks (PIT) including standup forklifts, order selectors, reach trucks, powered pallet jacks and dock stockers (will certify on equipment)
  • Performing daily checks on equipment prior to operating
  • Following all safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, including: hazard recognition, housekeeping, accident and near miss reporting, proper use of all safety equipment and procedures and adherence to all safety rules
  • Reporting faulty equipment, damage to company property including racks, and other safety hazards to supervisor
  • Accurately picking/packing orders using established work practices
  • Restocking picking bins
  • Accurately sorting, counting and receiving all merchandise
  • Safely moving product to and from pallet racks with powered material handling equipment
  • Safely working with conveyors to accurately build pallets of cartons for shipment
  • Loading/unloading trucks
  • Organizing warehouse storage space effectively
  • Adhering to all safety, quality and production standards
  • Using a scanner to direct work (pick, pack, receive, move)
  • Using hands and fingers to handle, or feel; repeatedly reaching overhead with hands and arms to accomplish tasks; using hearing to listen for safety hazards and instructions
  • Safely lifting and/or moving boxes, product or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Consistently lifting, bending, standing, walking, stooping and kneeling; occasionally crouching, crawling and climbing stairs during an 8-hour or 10-hour shift and during extended overtime shifts, as needed
  • Using close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception while performing warehouse functions
  • Working overtime as determined by business needs during the week and/or weekends
  • Following instructions quickly, safely and accurately.
  • Working effectively in a team environment
  • Effectively communicating and understanding basic written/oral instructions; reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules and operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals in English
