About The Position

Clean Harbors is hiring an Equipment Operator in Linden, New Jersey, to support Mix Pit operations. The position involves operating excavators and backhoes, solidifying materials, moving and offloading trucks, sampling, rail work, moving roll-offs, and performing other duties as assigned by management. The operator is also responsible for safe equipment operation, inspections and basic maintenance, required waste-tracking paperwork, and keeping the job site clean and organized. The role works the second shift, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., with flexibility. Pay is $30, with an additional $1.75 for SD pay.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience operating an excavator, backhoe, and/or roll-off truck.
Ability to operate yellow iron, including a backhoe, excavator, and front-end loader.
Minimal computer skills.
Experience or ability with loading and unloading bulk liquids and solids.
Forklift work.
Housekeeping.
Wear required personal protective equipment.
Must be clean-shaven; a mustache is permitted.

Nice To Haves

Previous industrial labor experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Comply with safe work practices, policies, and processes, and make health and safety the top priority.
Operate backhoes, excavators, roll-off trucks, forklifts, and other relevant equipment safely and efficiently.
Support Mix Pit operations, including solidifying, moving and offloading trucks, sampling, rail work, and moving roll-offs.
Assist with moving drums as needed.
Ensure equipment is not operated unsafely or contrary to Standard Operating Procedures.
Complete and submit required waste-tracking paperwork.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
Follow safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
Work closely with site supervisors and crew members.
Maintain a clean and organized job site.
Be available to join the snow team during cold months.
