Requirements

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English is preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel to any and all job sites without exception (including staying away from home if necessary).
  • Drivers must meet FMCSA English proficiency requirements under 49 CFR §391.11(b)(2), including the ability to read and speak English, understand highway signs, respond to official inquiries, and make required entries on reports and records.
  • All 10K-CMV and CDL drivers will be required to complete and pass an English proficiency assessment.

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the roller, skid steer, paver, milling machines, and other heavy equipment for paving projects/jobs.
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment and machinery.
  • Coordinate and work with contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to complete jobs.
  • Serve as a front-line Company representative and provide excellent service to customers and the public.
  • Work on the ground as needed.
  • Work quickly, productively, and safely to meet production goals.
  • Follow direction of the Foreman and/or Superintendent regarding daily production schedule and activities.
  • Advocate for safety and follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in job-site and safety meetings and all Company-related training.
  • Work in conjunction with Foreman or Crew Leader to ensure the job-site is safe and traffic is controlled prior to commencing work.
  • Be a strong communicator and maintain constant contact with other equipment operators, truck drivers, and general laborers.
  • Report problems and malfunctioning equipment and/or machinery to supervisor and/or shop personnel.
  • May set up and tear down equipment.
  • Maintain a clean job site; pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day.
  • Use equipment and/or an assortment of hand tools such as rakes, shovels, wheel barrels, etc.
  • Perform all other general laborer work as needed.
  • Perform any and all assigned duties.
