About The Position

Travel Tags, a Taylor Company, is seeking an Equipment Operator to join the team! This role will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of advanced packaging machinery. This role requires a high level of expertise, problem-solving abilities, and leadership skills. The Equipment Operator will ensure production goals are met while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical and technical skills, with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex machinery.

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as required.
  • Willingness to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
  • Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials
  • Frequently required to move inside the facility
  • Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry)

Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage complex packaging machinery, ensuring efficient operation and minimal downtime.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of equipment issues, coordinating with maintenance teams as necessary.
  • Optimize machinery settings to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
  • Train and mentor new and existing employees on machinery operation, safety protocols, best practices, and quality expectations.
  • Lead team efforts to achieve production goals, ensuring all members are aligned and informed.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback and suggestions from team members.
  • Provide detailed reports to the Production Supervisor or Operations Manager regarding equipment performance, production outcomes, and any operational challenges.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of machine performance, maintenance activities, and production metrics.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, including DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all departmental and company procedures.
  • Ensure all team members utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate data entry for time keeping, job costing, and MRP job tracking.
  • Ability to setup of equipment for new products and the most complex projects.
  • Materials management – request materials required to maintain productivity.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for department equipment, processes, policies, and practices.
