NDDOT Equipment Operator II Salary $4,937 per month NDDOT Equipment Operator I Salary $4,375 per month Filling this position as an Equipment Operator in Training may be considered if unable to fill as an Operator I or Operator II. The salary would be $4,157 per month.

Requirements

  • To be considered as an Equipment Operator II, you must have a valid North Dakota Class A driver license without air brake restrictions and a cargo tank endorsement (N) by the first day of work.
  • Two years of relevant experience or one year of experience and one season of winter operations similar to NDDOT.
  • To be considered as an Equipment Operator I, you must have a valid North Dakota Class B driver license without air brake restrictions.
  • If unable to find a candidate with preferred experience, will consider filling this position as an Equipment Operator in Training, which requires a valid North Dakota Class A driver permit without air brake restrictions and a cargo tank endorsement (N) by the first day of work.
  • The employee will have 12 months to obtain a North Dakota Class A driver license without air brake restrictions and a cargo-tank endorsement (N).
  • This position requires reporting to work within 30 minutes, after hours, on weekends, and on holidays during emergency events.
  • Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and the required drug test, job function screening, reference check, driver record check and federal clearinghouse query screening.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance.
  • Operate heavy equipment to perform required maintenance duties like basic snow and ice control/removal.
  • Complete highway maintenance duties, which include assisting in installing, repairing, and maintaining highway signs and guardrails.
  • Operate power tools and other equipment to perform maintenance duties.
  • Keep the roadways clear of any hazards, this includes litter, waste, debris, garbage, and carcasses.
  • Complete building and ground maintenance duties, and general routine maintenance of the roadway and radio system equipment.
  • Perform minor preventive and repair maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain necessary paperwork, including time records, activity reporting, daily diary, road reports, etc.
  • Receive training and perform construction project duties under close supervision.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your coworkers, and others.
