About The Position

This is a full-time, hourly position where the Equipment Operator is responsible for monitoring the product being processed and setting equipment for maximum processing efficiency. The role involves conducting complete clean-downs, performing general machine maintenance, operating processing machines at peak efficiency, completing processing reports, preparing products for storage, and staging/preparing product for processing. Packaging final product, participating in housekeeping, and actively participating in safety and Quality Assurance programs are also key aspects of this role. The employee will be exposed to dusty environments and may be required to wear a respirator for extended periods.

Requirements

  • Flexibility to work any shift required, including weekends and holidays as applicable.
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time while performing job duties.
  • Capability of working in confined spaces and from heights.
  • Bending, kneeling.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Ability to wear a respirator.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Reach both overhead and below the knee to pull screens out of the cleaner.
  • Lifting, rotating and twisting motions such as sweeping and picking up debris and other objects.
  • Use of fixed and portable ladders and or stairs up to approximately 24 feet.
  • Reaching below, at or above employees’ shoulder depending upon the machine involved.
  • Extended period of work at elevated positions are periodically required.

  • Safely stacking boxes in the warehouse.
  • Lift the bags, turn towards the pallet and place bags on the pallet.
  • Begin with loading bags on pallets that are approximately 4 inches from the ground.
  • Transferring or restacking of pallets is also required on occasion to meet customer demands or fix mistakes.
  • Lager bags require team lifts if being done manually.
  • Unloading product from trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Properly operate and maintain all processing equipment to ensure it is working to its fullest potential and produce the desired quality and quantity of end product.
  • Monitor the product being processed and set equipment for maximum processing efficiency.
  • Conduct complete clean-downs (respirator required) and removal of all beans from the previous variety when changing varieties to be processed.
  • Verify all processing machines are being maintained in a timely and proper manner.
  • Advise management if a repair is needed and repair or assist as needed.
  • Perform general machine maintenance on a daily basis.
  • Follow processing schedules and keep all processing equipment operating at peak efficiency.
  • Complete accurate processing reports for each lot processed, including tracking weights, box numbers, cull weights, dates, grading, and lot numbers.
  • Conduct continuous quality analyses to ensure desired standards are met.
  • Complete processing documents regarding quality and record results per the assigned schedule.
  • Immediately notify management of any potential problems.
  • Prepare processed products for storage and properly tag and record storage location.
  • Operate forklifts to safely stack boxes in the warehouse.
  • Stage and prepare product for processing.
  • Package final product by either hanging bags, sewing bags or stacking bags, ranging between 25 and 110 pounds.
  • Remove bags from a conveyor belt and transfer those bags to adjacent pallets for loading.
  • Stack bags on pallets up to four to five feet high.
  • Transfer or restack pallets as needed.
  • Solely lift up to 55 pounds; larger bags require team lifts if done manually.
  • Apply fungicides and insecticides to seed prior to packaging (if working at a seed facility).
  • Participate in daily housekeeping including sweeping, spill and pile cleanup as necessary.
  • Participate actively in all other ADM-EBSI safety and Quality Assurance programs.
  • Regular use of Powered Industrial Trucks including Forklifts, Skid steer loaders and wheel loaders.
  • Wear a respirator for extended periods in dusty environments.
