About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. This role operates heavy equipment for material staging, preprocessing, stockpile management, contamination control, and accurate customer truck loadout. It also involves operating and monitoring crushing and screening equipment, performing routine and preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Requirements

  • Skilled in operating heavy equipment—including front‑end loaders, excavators, and plant control systems—with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Experience in crushing and screening operations, aggregate processing with advanced knowledge of plant processes and equipment.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude with the ability to independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant machinery and systems.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic, self‑directed ownership mindset, high reliability in attendance and communication, and consistent task follow‑through.
  • Strong commitment to safety and situational awareness.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
  • Verification of age will be required as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in crushing/screening.
  • Preferred experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Preferred experience in crew coordination.
  • Preferred experience in maintenance on conveyors, screens, and crushers.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment—including loaders and excavators—for material staging, preprocessing, stockpile management, contamination control, and accurate customer truck loadout.
  • Operate and monitor a jaw crusher, multi‑deck screens, cone crusher and conveyor systems.
  • Perform plant startup/shutdown, adjust crusher settings and feed rates, and maintain product quality through continuous material assessment and real‑time process adjustments.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all plant equipment, including conveyor systems, screen media, cone liner, bearings, and lubrication.
  • Ensure safety and compliance by conducting pre‑operational inspections, participating in daily safety planning, and adhering to site procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas.
