About The Position

The Equipment Operator (EO) is responsible for operating various equipment including a frontend loader with a bucket, a 12k forklift or smaller with a rotator, a bobcat, and a skid steer. Operators must adhere to all Sims safety regulations and golden rules, perform pre-shift and end-of-shift inspections, and are responsible for the daily greasing and upkeep of equipment and work areas.

Requirements

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Valid Driver's license
Minimum of 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling and cleaning
Completes inspection report prior to using equipment
Safely operate machinery under the direction of the shift supervisor or production manager. Load trucks, pile scrap material, load/unload barges and rail cars
End of shift clean up and equipment inspection
Regularly clean equipment to preserve its quality and functionality
Commit to the overall safety of the work environment
Sweeps and shovels residual waste from process
Other duties may be assigned
