About The Position
Join our dedicated team based in Rocky View County, Alberta, and play a key role in maintaining and improving civil infrastructure. This position reports to the Road Manager. Mainroad Chinook Contracting LP is part of the employee-owned Mainroad Group, a recognized leader in delivering safe, reliable, and innovative highway maintenance and construction services across Canada.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Class 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement and a clean abstract
- Minimum two years of related work experience
- Experience operating highway maintenance and snow removal equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work shifts, call-outs, weekends, and overtime
- Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Physically capable of performing heavy labour
Responsibilities
- Operate trucks to haul asphalt and materials
- Perform snow plowing, sanding, and salting during winter events
- Conduct physical labour such as pothole patching and vegetation clearing
- Inspect highways, shoulders, and interchanges for debris and hazards
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Support traffic control and ensure public safety
- Perform other duties as required
