Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate heavy construction equipment (Skid steers, Ditchwitch trenching tractors, Rubber tire backhoes and excavators).
  • Willingness and desire to work in various weather conditions, spending long days in remote areas.
  • A Class 3 driver's license is mandatory for candidates located in MB.
  • A Class 5 license with Heavy Trailer G Endorsement is required for SK candidates.
  • Good oral, written, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, be adaptable, and work in a team environment.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Completion of satisfactory background checks is conditional for employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with material movement, trench backfill, site cleanup.
  • Experience with completing cable trenches.
  • Experience with pipeline excavations, trenching, backfill/compaction activities.

Responsibilities

  • Completing tasks related to the installation, energization, and maintenance of cathodic protection and/or AC mitigation systems.
  • Maintenance and operational function of assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.
  • Completing specific project task objectives.
  • In-field training and development of more junior project team members.
  • Safely operating heavy construction equipment, including skid steers, Ditchwitch trenching tractors, rubber tire backhoes, and excavators.
  • Towing 2 or 3 axle trailers loaded with miscellaneous materials and equipment.
  • Working in various weather conditions and spending long days in remote areas.
  • Accurate reporting, timesheet and expense submissions, and inventory tracking.
  • Supporting monthly safety meetings and compliance audits.
  • Collaborating with technical staff.
  • Fostering a positive, respectful team environment.
